FAQ's

Do I need a referral to book?

No referral is required.

You can book directly with us at any time. Some clients choose to attend with a GP referral under a Chronic Disease Management Plan, DVA, WorkCover, or other funding streams, but this is not necessary to get started.

If you are unsure what applies to you, we can help you figure it out.

What is an Exercise Physiologist?

An Exercise Physiologist is a university qualified allied health professional who specialises in using exercise as medicine.

We work with injuries, chronic conditions, pain, surgery recovery, and complex health concerns. This is not a general fitness or gym environment. Your program is clinically informed, personalised, and designed specifically for your body and your goals.

Many women feel reassured knowing they are guided by a health professional rather than navigating exercise alone.

I have not exercised in years. Is that okay?

Absolutely.

Many of our clients are starting again after a long break. Some have not exercised for decades.

You do not need a base level of fitness before you begin. That is our job to help you build safely.

We start exactly where you are and progress at a pace that feels comfortable and achievable.

Is exercise actually safe during menopause?

Yes, and it is one of the most important things you can do for your health.

The key is doing the right type of exercise.

Targeted strength training, gentle conditioning, and pelvic floor safe movement can help:

  • support bone density

  • maintain muscle mass

  • improve energy

  • reduce joint pain

  • improve mood and sleep

  • increase confidence

High intensity or random workouts can sometimes aggravate symptoms. That is why personalised guidance makes such a difference.

What if I have pelvic floor issues or prolapse?

You are not alone, and you are absolutely welcome here.

Pelvic floor concerns are very common during and after menopause. We regularly support women with:

  • bladder leakage

  • pelvic heaviness or prolapse

  • post hysterectomy recovery

  • core weakness

  • abdominal separation

Your sessions will include safe core work, breathing strategies, and pressure management so you can strengthen without making symptoms worse.

Everything is private, respectful, and judgement free.

What if I am recovering from surgery or injury?

Exercise can be one of the most effective tools for recovery when it is done correctly.

We frequently work with women recovering from:

  • hysterectomy

  • prolapse repair

  • abdominal or pelvic surgery

  • joint injuries

  • chronic pain conditions

Your program is tailored around your stage of healing and your medical advice. We progress gradually and safely so you feel supported at every step.

What is the difference between 1:1 sessions and small group classes?

1:1 Exercise Physiology

Private sessions fully tailored to you.
Ideal if you have pain, injuries, pelvic floor concerns, or prefer individual support.

Clinical Pilates (small group)

Maximum of four people.
Still personalised, but in a supportive small group environment. Your program is specific to you, not a generic class.

Both options are guided closely and focused on quality movement, not keeping up with others.

Can I claim private health insurance?

Yes.

Exercise Physiology and Clinical Pilates sessions may be claimable through private health extras, depending on your cover. We provide on the spot claiming where available.

If you are unsure what your policy covers, your insurer can confirm this for you.

How often should I attend?

This depends on your goals and schedule.

Many clients start with one to two sessions per week to build strength and confidence, then transition to a routine that feels sustainable long term.

We will recommend a plan that suits your needs without overcommitting you.

Consistency matters more than doing too much.

What should I wear or bring?

Just comfortable clothing you can move in.

You do not need anything fancy. Activewear or loose clothes are perfect. Bring a water bottle and any relevant medical information if needed.

We take care of the rest.

I feel embarrassed or nervous. Is that normal?

Completely normal.

Trying something new, especially when your body feels different, can feel vulnerable.

Many women tell us they were anxious before their first session. Almost all say they felt relieved within minutes of arriving.

You will be welcomed, listened to, and supported. There is no judgement here, only care.

How do I get started?

The first step is simple.

Send us an enquiry. We will talk through your symptoms, goals, and concerns, then create a personalised plan that feels right for you.

You do not need to figure everything out first. That is what we are here for.

Ready to begin? Reach out. We would love to support you.
